Tilia Homes in collaboration with Geoff Perry Associates, are delivering 110 new homes in the growing village of Hawkesbury, situated between Coventry and Bedworth. The Hawkesbury Lakes site was formerly the public 9-hole parkland golf course Hawkesbury Golf Centre, which closed in 2020 thereafter and had gradually declined in maintenance. In 2018 the site at Hawkesbury Golf Course was allocated for housing in the Local Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Plan.
Geoff Perry Associates are delighted to work with Tilia Homes on the Phase One redevelopment of the Hawkesbury Golf Course, which obtained Planning Permission in 2021 with the aims and objectives; to create a landscape led new community. The scheme is set to redevelop the area as a new Canalside Village situated along the Coventry Canal just a short distance away from Hawkesbury Junction.
The development includes an abundance of interconnected routes that encourage walking, cycling and outdoor activity throughout the neighbourhood, linking the existing Hawkesbury Golf Lake, proposed ponds, and a series of places to sit and meet.
As designers, Geoff Perry Associates has placed strong emphasis on delivering attractive and usable green spaces, ensuring the development not only benefits residents but also creates welcoming places for the wider village community to visit, enjoy and share. The scheme has new sports courts, a BMX track, play spaces to cater for all ages and improved connections for Canalside walks.
Geoff Perry, Managing Director of Geoff Perry Associates, said: “It has been a pleasure to have been involved in such a project which promotes ‘green-space communities’ we are collectively improving people’s wellbeing, creating better places to live, which align with the Governments future direction of sustainable growth”.
